Kaduna Gears Up to Host Nigeria Public Relations Week 2026. A New Platform to Boost Economic & Agricultural Growth

Kaduna State is set to take centre stage as the host of the 2026 Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), a flagship national event aimed at driving strategic communication to support economic growth, agricultural development, food security and investment in Nigeria.

In a significant move underscoring the power of collaboration between government and communications professionals, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Kaduna State Government have formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to bring this prestigious week-long forum to Kaduna from 19th to 25th April 2026.

A Strategic Event for National Development
The 2026 NPRW will gather over 2,000 communication professionals, policymakers and business leaders from across Nigeria and beyond to explore how public relations can advance national priorities. Under the compelling theme “Food Security: From Policy Papers to Public Plates – The Public Relations Imperatives,” discussions will focus on turning policy ideas into tangible outcomes for citizens.

This edition aims not only to enhance professional skills in strategic communication but also to spotlight Kaduna’s economic and agricultural potential — reinforcing the state as a destination for investment, innovation and sustainable growth.

Kaduna’s Vision: Growth Through Collaboration
At the signing ceremony in Abuja, NIPR President Dr. Ike Neliaku emphasised the importance of leveraging communication to tackle national challenges, especially in agriculture and food security — sectors that remain central to Nigeria’s economy and social stability.

Governor Uba Sani welcomed the collaboration, describing NPRW as pivotal to Kaduna’s development agenda. He highlighted how the theme aligns with the state’s ongoing efforts to create jobs, enhance social welfare and strengthen agricultural value chains. Beyond hosting, the partnership includes capacity building for traditional institutions, government officials and citizens on effective communication and engagement.

What to Expect at NPRW 2026
The week will feature a rich programme including:
Strategic roundtables on food security and national development
Professional workshops on communication trends and reputation management
Panel sessions with thought leaders and policymakers
Networking opportunities for investors, PR professionals and youth leaders
This high-impact event underscores the growing recognition that strategic public relations are essential for policy implementation, societal trust and national progress — especially in areas like food systems, economic resilience and governance.

Why It Matters
With Kaduna’s expanding role in agriculture and its strengthened security landscape that has reopened farmlands and revived markets, this event could be a turning point for positioning the state and Nigeria as vibrant hubs of economic opportunity and food production.

As preparations ramp up, all eyes are on Kaduna to deliver an impactful Public Relations Week that not only elevates the PR profession but also champions sustainable development that moves Nigeria forward.
