Nestlé Nigeria Reassures Consumers, Celebrates Media Excellence & Strengthens Corporate Engagement

Lagos & Port Harcourt, Nigeria — Nestlé Nigeria Plc remains in the spotlight with a series of positive developments over the past month, reinforcing its commitment to food safety, community assurance, corporate communication, and excellence in journalism.

🍼 Regulatory Assurance: Infant Formula Sold in Nigeria Declared Safe

Following global news of a voluntary recall of specific infant formula batches by Nestlé in over 50 countries due to possible contamination concerns, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has unequivocally reassured Nigerian parents and caregivers that all Nestlé infant formula products sold locally are safe for consumption and were not part of the recalled batches. This clarification underscores the company’s adherence to stringent local and international food safety standards, protecting consumer confidence in essential nutrition products.

Nestlé emphasized that only formula products not registered for the Nigerian market were involved in the global recall, and that all SMA and NAN variants available locally meet regulatory requirements and quality assurances.

🏆 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards: Celebrating Excellence in Journalism

In a major highlight for the country’s media and creative community, journalist Odimegwu Onwumere secured a triple win at the 2025 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards, held recently to celebrate exceptional reporting across themes such as Youth Empowerment and Development, Nutrition and Affordable Food Solutions, and Business and Economy.
