Nigeria recently hosted the 2026 Africa Translational Research Bootcamp and Scientific Conference in Abuja — a flagship event jointly led by NIPRD and the SPARK Translational Research Institute, with support from global partners. Director‑General Dr. Obi Adigwe emphasised that initiatives like the SPARK programme are designed to close the long‑standing gap between scientific discovery and real‑world healthcare impact, equipping researchers with skills in entrepreneurship, prototyping and clinical planning.
